Many Thanks to BK Magazine!
Hello from KIMI. I must say we all are a HUGE fan of BK Magazine and they came to have fun with us recently. We had fun and we really enjoy their review. May you take I look at below content from BK Magazine Team. Traditional omakase served in a casual setting with natty wines. The buzz: Bangkok is spoiled for omakase options, but most aim for upmarket and expensive. Kimi Sushi Bar, however, offers a casual outdoor omakase dining experience with affordable prices—perfect for first-timers. The vibe: The off-beat 49 Terrace on Sukhumvit Soi 49 offers a quiet, casual space with an outdoor seating area, and Kimi is an ideal addition to the space. Located outdoors by the main stairs (the ones that go up to La Bottega), the pop-up wooden hut-like offers six seats at the counter for food and a few other seating options for drinking. If it rains, you’ll still be protected but you'll definitely get some sprinkles in a downpour, making it super cozy. Just keep drinking their 10-label rotating natural wines and you won’t mind a bit of rain. The food: Don’t let the super casual setting fool you into thinking that they aren’t serious about their food. The omakase here is served in Edomae style, a process-heavy style with roots in the Edo period—back when the lack of refrigeration caused a reliance on cooking techniques in aging, fermentation, and more. There are three rounds of omakase and six seats per round: 1pm, 6pm, and 7:45pm. It's B2,499 for around 15 courses. For this price, some of the highlights we enjoyed included the torched kinmedai (alfonsino), bringing out the soft smokiness nicely, and the ankimo, which is monkfish liver served with a tiny dollop of wasabi to cut through the fattiness. If you’re an uni-lover, you’ll also get a taste of that at this price. Why we’d come back: Thonglor has many options for restaurants and bars, but we haven’t found one that offers a super casual, fun, friendly vibe like Kimi Sushi. Even if we are not going to eat there again, we’d definitely go back for their wines and sakes. Thanks for reading til here. LOVE, KIMI TEAM
